Northern First Nations participate in Archeological Training

Anishinaabek News Article November 26, 2019 By Sarah Hazell This past summer, over 50 participants from 11 different First Nations were provided foundational archaeological training from the Ontario Archaeological Society (OAS). The training was made possible through an Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) grant that was awarded to the OAS to build archaeological capacity in northern Ontario First Nations over a two-year period. The first year of training resulted in the certification of 47 individuals, including youth, adults, and elders.
