Aundeck Omni Kaning First Nation is located on the North Channel on the Beautiful Shore of Manitoulin Island. It is located on Hwy 540, five kilometers West of Little Current, Ontario.
The community has begun a language and cultural revitalization program through which the language, arts and crafts, traditional ceremonies and knowledge can be taught and preserved as a means of strengthening the cultural identity.

Centrally located on Manitoulin Island within the Great Lakes Region of Northern Ontario, Canada, the heart of the community is located within the bay surrounded by the North Channel of Lake Huron.The First Nation formerly known as West Bay, proudly changed the name of the community to M’Chigeeng.
The second largest First Nation on Manitoulin Island was settled in the middle of the 19th century when many Anishinabek from the north shore area relocated. M’Chigeeng is now home to the Anishinabek of the Three Fires Confederacy: Odawa, Ojibway and the Pottawattomi Nations.

Sheguiandah First Nation’s reserve covers a land area of 20.77 sq. km. or 8.0 sq. mi. This Nation is a signatory to the Manitoulin Island Treaty. Our history and traditions are rooted in the Odawa, Ojibway and Potawatomi Nations of Mnidoo Mnising, and our official languages are Anishnaabemowin and English. As of January 2024, the Nation has an approximate total of 548 registered members.
Traditionally, the name Sheguiandah has gone by many meaning and translations. Sheguiandah First Nation is proud community. We believe in honouring and protecting our sacred gift of Earth, Water, Air, and Fire. These gifts have been our way of life for millennia. It is our responsibility to maintain the gifts of the land and foster harmony amongst our peoples so that future generations will benefit.

Located on the northern shoreline of Manitoulin Island, Sheshegwaning First Nation boasts a land base of 10,124 acres, accessible year-round via a hard top road. Our history and traditions are rooted in the Odawa Nation of Anishinaabek, and our official languages are Nishnaabemwin and English.
We honour our sacred responsibility for the Earth, Water, Air, and Fire that sustain us. It's a responsibility that extends to maintaining the gifts of the land and fostering harmony among ourselves, all for the sake of our children and the generations yet to come.

Whitefish River First Nation land base is 5600 hectares in size / 22 square miles. Local wildlife is abundant and includes deer, rabbit, beaver, muskrat, mink, bobcat and lynx and an abundance of fish including northern pike, lake trout, whitefish, pickerel and bass populate our many lakes, rivers and streams. Large stands of birch, poplar, jack pine and cedar can be found throughout the area.
The Anishinabek of Whitefish River First Nation will work in harmony while maintaining our culture, traditions and knowledge to enrich and empower our people. We will strive to improve community well-being by collectively protecting, strengthening and developing its resources and culture through mutual cooperation.
